Here’s another great tool for machine quilting – or rather, for pin-basting your quilt in preparation for machine quilting. Did you know that you can get a 60″ aluminum ruler at hardware stores?
The long, straight edge helps to make straight borders, and can reach all the way across most lap quilts to ensure a consistent width across the quilt top.
I also like an L-square (not sure if that’s a real term) to get square corners. This one is 14″x24″, and I would buy a larger one if I could find one:
This T-square would come in handy for basting quilts too:
The T-square and 60″ rulers were priced at about $12 on Home Depot online. What a great deal!
